December 17, 2015: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad
Amin Fatimie hosted a lunch reception at the embassy of Afghanistan in
Tokyo to welcome H.E. Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and
Livestock Mr. Mir Amanuddin Haidari and the participants of Science and
Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development (SATREPS)
jointly provided by Japan Science and Technology Agency and Japan
International Cooperation Agency. The participants were on their trip to
Japan, as this was the last of 5 years project on wheat breeding
program. They attended project presentation and discussion session at
Yokohama City University, as well as paid visit to Ministry of Foreign
Affairs; Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery; and NGO
organizations.
The reception was opened by H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie’s remark to
warmly welcome the participants and praise their efforts, of which
builds the foundation of nation building. At the same time, H.E.
Ambassador expressed his appreciation, on behalf of the government of
the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the participants, Yokohama City
University for leading the project under Professor Ban, and related
authorities for continuously assisting and enabling the half of a decade
long programs.
H.E. Deputy Minister Mr. Haidari expressed his appreciation to the
organizers of the trip and project sessions as a whole, and stated he
was looking forward to bringing the lessons and experiences earned to be
utilized for the further reconstruction of the country.
