Attendance at Supportive Reception for H.E. State Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Masahisa Sato.

May 14, 2019: It was an honor for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to attend the supportive reception for his long time friend, H.E. Mr. Masahisa Sato, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, at the Meiji Kinenkan in Tokyo.

Welcoming remarks were given at the opening ceremony by H.E. Mr. Taro Kono, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat thanked H.E. State Minister Mr. Sato for the invitation as well as expressed, on behalf of people and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, deep appreciation to the Japanese government through H.E. Mr. Sato for its continuing support of Afghanistan’s reconstruction process which is paving the way for increased greater livelihood, peace and prosperity for the Afghan people in an Afghan-owned and Afghan-led process. In return, H.E. Mr. Sato thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his attendance as well as for his kind words, assuring him that Japan would continue to stand with Afghanistan well into the future.

While at the event, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also had the pleasure of meeting with others of Their Excellencies the Ambassadors, diplomats with missions in Japan, members of Government, prominent business members, and other distinguished guests all present in honor to support H.E. State Minister Sato.
