Attendance at the Annual Meeting of the Japanese Ambassadors in the Middle East and Africa.

May 14, 2019: It was an honor for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to attend the annual meeting of the Japanese ambassadors to the Middle East and Africa, hosted by H.E. Mr. Taro Kono, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held at the Iikura Guest House in Tokyo.

This annual meeting serves with the noble intention to strengthen the important relationships among the host nation of Japan and the many nations in Africa and the Middle East region. The heads of missions for these countries are able to meet, network, and familiarize themselves with one another in order to build the most ideal and warm of relations. On behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat expressed sincerest appreciation to the host of the event, H.E. Mr. Taro Kono, Foreign Minister of Japan, and gave heartfelt thanks to the noble nation of Japan for their continuous benevolent support over the years as Afghanistan has worked towards enduring progress prosperity and peace in an Afghan-owned and Afghan-led process. In return. H.E. Foreign Minister Kono assured H.E. Dr. Mohabbat that Japan would continue to stand with Afghanistan well into the future and greatly admired the recent progress being made on the peace front by the Afghan government.

Through the course of the evening, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also had the pleasure of meeting with H.E. Mr. Mitsuji Suzuka, Ambassador of Japan to Afghanistan, as well as H.E. Mr. Aisawa Ichiro, Member of the House of Representatives and former State Minister for Foreign Affairs as well as former Parliamentary Vice-minister of Trade and Industry, to whom he expressed sincerest gratitude and appreciation on behalf of the people and government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for standing by them and being true friends over the years as they have striven for peace. Additionally he had the pleasure of meeting with several of Their Excellencies the Ambassadors, heads of missions in Japan, diplomats, dignitaries, and other guests, all of whom he greeted warmly and discussed topics of mutual interest.
