Attendance at the Opening Ceremony of the 197th Extraordinary Session of the National Diet of Japan in the Chamber of the House of Councillors
October 24, 2018: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the honor and pleasure of attending the Opening Ceremony of the 197th Extraordinary Session of the National Diet of Japan in the Chamber of the House of Councillors, opened by His Majesty the Emperor of Japan. Dr. Rahim Azimi, First Secretary for the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan also attended the event.
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat and Dr. Azimi attended and observed the Opening Ceremony of the 197th Extraordinary Session of the National Diet of Japan in what was an auspicious event held in the Chamber of the House of Councillors. This session of the Diet is expected to end on December 10, 2018; during which time 13 governmental bills will be discussed such as amendments to the immigration law, setting the date for unified local elections, treaties between Japan and the E.U/EPA, as well as referendum laws and debate on the constitution. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also took the opportunity to discuss various topics of mutual interest with several Ambassadors and diplomats who were also in attendance.
