December 13, 2019: It was a pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to receive a courtesy call by Mr. Nigel Gan, Training Associate for UNITAR Hiroshima’s Division of Peace, at the Embassy in Tokyo.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat warmly welcomed Mr. Gan to the embassy and expressed gratitude to him for making time in his schedule to meet for a courtesy call. Further, he thanked Mr. Gan for the hard work and support he and all the members of UNITAR have given to Afghanistan over the years across countless sectors. In return, Mr. Gan expressed his deepest gratitude to H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat for finding time in his busy schedule to meet with him, for the warm welcome, and for his kind words.

The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in Hiroshima has been committed to training people from post-conflict zones. As such they have hosted many training workshops and seminars for Afghans in Japan to help further develop Afghanistan’s potential for Self Sustainability. Therefore, Mr. Gan and H.E. Dr. Mohabbat discussed ways in which to help broaden and increase the opportunities for Afghans to learn through the auspices of UNITAR.
