Attendance at Reception to Launch Graphic Novel “Mujib” in Japanese Language.
November 26, 2018: It was a pleasure for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to attend the reception honoring the launch of the graphic novel “Mujib” in the Japanese language, hosted by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh at the Banganabdhu Auditorium in Tokyo.
H.E. Mrs. Akie Abe, the First Lady of Japan, gave opening remarks about the significance of the life of the legendary man known in the book as in life as “Mujib”, as well as the importance of the graphic novel’s second foreign language to be written in being Japanese. On behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat expressed thanks to the host of the event, H.E. Ms. Rabab Fatima, Ambassador of Bangladesh, for the longtime friendship and support by the people and Government of Bangladesh as well for the success of this graphic novel depicting the life of H.E. the Bangabandhu, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman – founding father of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. In return, H.E. Ambassador Ms. Fatima thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his attendance as well as for his very kind words and assured him that Bangladesh would continue to be a supportive friend and partner of Afghanistan well into the future as they strived for regional peace and prosperity.
While at the event, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also had the pleasure of meeting with several of Their Excellencies the Ambassadors, diplomats with mission in Japan, high ranking government officials, and distinguished guests all present for the premier of the Japanese language version of the graphic novel.
