Dr. Mohabbat Attends Gifu Honorary Citizen Award Ceremony for Ms. Takako Yasuda
August 21, 2016: Dr. Bashir Mohabbat, Minister-Counsellor, took part in the ceremony of Mrs. Takako Yasuda, president of Sohga Kimono Institute based in Gifu, an influential and well-known kimono (Japanese national dress) instructor, as well as the president of Wa-no-Mirai, a non-profit organization.
The reception was held in honor of Mrs. Yasuda's receiving of an Honorary Citizen Award from Gifu City for promoting its art culture through kimono lessons and manners by cultural exchanges, not only domestically, but also internationally. Her associations and related parties, including NGO ASCA, Gifu-Nagara Soroptimist have been helping and assisting Afghanistan in the education field. The reception was attended by more than 400 dignitaries from the local Assembly, media, and cultural organizations. Dr. Mohabbat had the pleasure of seeing again the Honorable Mr. Shigemitsu Hosoe, Mayor of Gifu City, and offered thanks for Japan's continuing support of Afghanistan throughout the past years.
