January 18, 2011: Ambassador Sayed M. Amin Fatimie
and Mr. Jason Pratt, Public Affairs Officer, met at the Embassy of
Afghanistan in Tokyo with Mr. Evgeny Latypov, official representative to
Japan of the World Fitness Federation (WFF) and the World Bodybuilding
Federation (WBBF).
Mr. Latypov, a former European fitness champion, has been making
preparations with his organizations to organize an international
bodybuilding competition in Afghanistan. To this end, Mr. Latypov
visited Kabul and surrounding areas in the summer of 2010 to meet with
local bodybuilders and was featured on a news program.
Ambassador Fatimie expressed his appreciation for this initiative to
support fitness and athletics in Afghanistan and promised the Embassy’s
cooperation.
