June 22, 2018: H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the pleasure of meeting with Mr. Yoichi Arai, Director, Ms. Chieko Ito, Assitant Director, and Mr. Ryosuke Ando, Assistant Director, all of whom are Cabinet Secretariats to the Headquarters for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Also in attendance was Mr. Asif Agah, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Afghanistan in Tokyo.
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss matters concerning the current options and available prefectural locations that could potentially host Afghanistan during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Also, substantial information was exchanged about the details of all the sports that Afghanistan currently and could compete in during Olympic and Paralympic time period. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat emphasized the importance and significance of this upcoming international event and the positive impact that it continues to reflect upon Afghanistan. Further, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat expressed great joy in knowing that Afghanistan has another opportunity to both represent their progression and profound perseverance.
Mr. Arai, Ms. Ito, and Mr. Ando all thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for arranging this important meeting and for making time in his schedule. In return, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat thanked the Cabinet Secretariats for their continued effort in ensuring that Afghanistan is represented in Japan. Further, he expressed his wholehearted thanks and appreciation for the people and Government of Japan for their continuous and benevolent assistance to Afghanistan.
