Attendance at the Republic of Singapore's 54th National Day Reception.
September 3, 2019 : H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the honor of attending the 54th National Day reception for the Republic of Singapore at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, Japan.
On this most auspicious occasion and on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat expressed most heartfelt congratulations to long-time friend of the Afghan Embassy, H.E. Mr. Lui Tuck Yew, Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to Japan – with whom he began his tenure as Ambassador with on the same day over two years ago, presenting credentials to His Imperial Highness the Emperor of Japan. Further, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat expressed his gratitude for Singapore’s long standing commitment to Afghanistan’s reconstruction and development, particularly in the realm of Human Capacity Building by offering many scholarships across several fields for Ministry officials. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat proceeded to thank the people and Government of Singapore, for their steadfast support over the years and expressed his hope for their continued prosperity. H.E. Mr. Lui thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his kind words and in return expressed his wish to see the relationship between Afghanistan and Singapore continue to strengthen and flourish.
H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also had the pleasure of meeting with several of Their Excellencies the Ambassadors with missions in Japan, many diplomats, members of Parliament, and notable members of Japan’s business sector all of whom had come to celebrate this most notable occasion for the Republic of Singapore.
