Attendance of the 50th Celebration for World Telecommunication and Information Society.

May 17, 2018: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat attended the 50th Celebration for World Telecommunication and Information Society Day at the Keio Plaza Hotel in Shinjuku.
The main objective of the day is to raise awareness of changes brought by the Internet and new technologies that aim to reduce a digital divide. At the reception held on “International Telecommunications Day”, Dr. Hideyuki Tokuda, the Professor, Faculty of Environment and Information Studies at Keio University and Director of the Ubiquitous Computing and Communication Laboratory, gave a lecture about the importance of telecommunications and information in contemporary society.
While at the event, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat had the pleasure of meeting with H.E. Mr. Masahiko Tominaga, Vice-Minister for Policy Coordination (International Affairs) Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) for Japan, with whole he spoke and extended his sincerest thanks for the continuous benevolent assistance to Afghanistan by the noble people and Government of Japan.He also had the pleasure of meeting with several others of Their Excellencies the Ambassadors, diplomats with missions in Japan, and other distinguished guests.
