Attendance at the Annual General Assembly for 2018 of the Overseas Construction Association of Japan, Inc. (OCAJI).

May 14, 2018: H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the pleasure of attending the Annual General Assembly for 2018 of the Overseas Construction Association of Japan, Inc. (OCAJI) at the Palace Hotel in Tokyo.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat sincerely thanked the host, OCAJI President the Hon. Mr. Kenji Hasuwa, for the invitation to the event and for the assistance to Afghanistan’s development by OCAJI across many facets. In return, Hon. Mr. Hasuwa told Dr. Mohabbat that OCAJI would do its best to increase support to Afghanistan for further development in the future. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat and Hon. Mr. Kenji Hasuwa, discussed the present and future plans of construction in Afghanistan. The two gentlemen agreed that over the past years Afghanistan has greatly benefited from infrastructure construction and development and thus would benefit greatly from continued Japanese construction and development.

While at the event, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also had the honor of meeting with H.E. Mr. Keiichi Ishii, Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism whom he thanked on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, for the continuing generous, comprehensive and impact generating support Japan has provided to Afghanistan’s development which has resulted in Afghans living longer, freer and happier lives. In return H.E. Minister Ishii thanked Dr. Mohabbat for his kind words and assured him that Japan would continue to stand with Afghanistan well into the future. Also in attendance were several of Their Excellencies, Heads of Missions, Diplomats with missions in Japan, members of parliament, leading business people, and other dignified guests.
