Attendance at the 24th Yomiuri International Cooperation Award Ceremony
November 16, 2017: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, had the pleasure of attending the 24th Yomiuri International Cooperation Award Ceremony at the Imperial Hotel.
During the ceremony, the crowd was addressed by His Excellency Mr. Taro Kono, Minister for Foreign Affairs Japan, with a speech about the importance of international cooperation, and the congratulations to the awardee. The awardee for the 24th Yomiuri International Cooperation was to Dr. Akio Kanai, Doctor of Optometry Chairman, CEO of Fuji Optical Co., Ltd. Dr. Kanai was also congratulated by Mr. Kojiro Shiraishi, the Chairman of the Board for Yomiuri Shimbun Holdings.
H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also congratulated Dr. Kanai for his victory and commended his valiant effort in helping refugees around the world and helping the growth of global humanitarianism. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat also congratulated Mr. Shiraishi for the successful and pleasant event, and thanked him for holding such a grand ceremony.Additionally he thanked him for Japan's continuous benevolent support of Afghanistan over the years during its rebuilding process. In return, Mr. Shiraishi thanked H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his kind words and attendance expressing his wishes for further good relations between their two countries.
