Courtesy Call and Luncheon with NGO Peace Winds
November 16, 2017: His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the honor and pleasure of receiving a courtesy call, followed by hosting a luncheon, from the NGO, Peace Winds Japan, and their Afghan counterparts. All of the Embassy Diplomats and staff also attended the event.
The event began with a welcoming speech by H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat, as well as a speech by the Honorable Mr. Sayed F. Wahildi, Chairman of ANCB and Former Governor of Herat and Kunar Provinces in Afghanistan, and Mr. Akbari. In their speeches, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat and Hon. Mr. Wahidi stressed the importance of cooperation between NGOs and the Afghan Government in order to achieve peace and stability in the troubled nation. Furthermore, they took the opportunity to express their gratitude to Peace Winds Japan for their invaluable assistance to the Afghan people.
Following the opening speeches, those in attendance had the opportunity to enjoy traditional Afghan foods and discuss topics of mutual interest.
