Dr. Mohabbat calls on the Minister-Counsellor of the Spanish Embassy
September 7, 2016: Dr. Bashir Mohabbat, Minister-Counsellor at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tokyo, called upon Minister-Counsellor Carlos Maldonado, currently Charge d’Affairs of the Embassy of Spain, at the latter’s office.
Dr. Mohabbat took the opportunity on this occasion to express deepest gratitude, on behalf of the people and government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, for the European Union’s, and particularly Spain’s, cooperative efforts to rebuild Afghanistan following the nation’s transition to peace and democracy.
Talks largely centered around the upcoming Brussels Conference on Afghanistan, which Dr. Mohabbat explained in depth, expressing the crucial role in the conference in the furthering of Afghan self-reliance. In this sense, Dr. Mohabbat kindly requested Spain’s active support at the conference.
Mr. Maldonado in turn expressed appreciation for the visit. The Charge d’Affairs mentioned warmly the long and close relations between their two esteemed nations and promised that Spain would continue to stand with Afghanistan.
