23/07/2015 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Attends “Discover a New Side of Hiroshima Seminar”

July 23, 2015:
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie had the pleasure to attend the “Discover a New Side of Hiroshima” seminar held at the Ikura House. The event to which more than a hundred ambassadors and several high-ranking Japanese officials assisted was a beautiful example of how a modern and developed state can gather the different stratums of its political division in order to promote a praiseworthy objective which is war recovery and peace promotion.

It is in that way that H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie discussed with Mr. Hidehiko Yuzaki, Governor of Hiroshima Prefecture, and Mr. Kazumi Matsui, Mayor of the City, applauding their continuous work for the development of Hiroshima.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie also had the opportunity to congratulate H.E. Minister of Foreign Affairs Fumio Kishida - who was born in Hiroshima – for his impressive speech. H.E. Minister Mr. Kishida wished stability, prosperity and peace for Afghanistan and mentioned its cooperation for peace promotion.
This is a remark Afghan people will appreciate because, as it has been the case for Hiroshima, Afghanistan is too often reduced to recent historical facts. Thus, Hiroshima as a center of peace promotion in the entire world is an example for Afghanistan whose people wants peace and development, and whose National Unity Government works to achieve this objective.

July 22, 2015:
H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie attended with great interest a seminar organized under Japanese MOFA’s aegis called “Public Seminar on the Middle East - International Effort towards the Stability and Prosperity of the Middle East, including counter-terrorism efforts”.
Contrary to a common misconception, Afghanistan is not a Middle East country. However, Afghanistan has very strong historic ties with the region and also faces a very complex security challenge. Nevertheless, the Government and the People of Afghanistan are absolutely not to be resigned. National security shall be restored and it has been proven how much international cooperation was precious to go further on the path towards this imperious objective.

Thus, the seminar has been especially interesting. H.E. Mr. Yasuhide Nakayama, State Minister for Foreign Affairs gave the opening remarks before the assistance was offered a panel discussion of which the moderator was Professor Akifumi Ikeda, President of Toyo Eiwa University. The panelists were H.E. Mr. Khaled Hussein Mohamed Alyemany, Permanent Representative of Yemen to the United Nations, H.E. Mr. Mohamed Khaled Khiari, Permanent Representative of Tunisia to the United Nations, Ms. Manal Hassan S. Radwan (Deputy Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations), and Professor Kunihiko Miyake, Research Director at The Canon Institute for Global Studies.
