H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat extended his warmest welcome and deepest appreciation to H.E. Ambassador Mr. Ibrahim Uvais for his kind visit to the embassy. In return, H.E. Ambassador Mr. Ibrahim Uvais expressed many thanks to H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his sincere words and for making time in his schedule to meet. They discussed their wishes for continued growth in relations between Afghanistan and the Maldives. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat expressed great interest in further molding the relationship between the two countries into a mutual cultural and economic benefiting exchange. H.E. Mr. Ibrahim Uvais agreed to do his best to secure H.E. Dr. Mohabbat’s wishes to encourage exponential growth in ties between the Maldives and Afghanistan and expressed his sincerest thanks to the people and Government of the Maldives for the continuous support of Afghanistan over the years.

June 23, 2018: To celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Indonesia-Japan Diplomatic Relations, Dr. Rahim Azimi, the First Secretary of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, joined with great honor the Music Performance of the Resonanz Children's Choir and Angklung Ensemble of the SMA 3 High School of Bandung at the Yebisu Garden in Tokyo.
Dr. Azimi showed his greatest appreciation for the invitation to the concert and showed a keen interest in the music. Most importantly, Dr Azimi celebrated and blessed the strong Indonesia-Japan relations while he expressed his sincerest gratitude from the Embassy and the people of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan towards both sides for their generous succor in regards to rebuilding, supporting, and including Afghanistan in international affairs. Conversely, Indonesia and Japan expressed their gratitude towards Dr. Azimi and the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for joining the concert and reassured the continuous support towards Afghanistan and its people.
Additionally, Dr. Azimi had the honor of meeting and speaking with several distinguished guests that joined the musical performance.

June 22, 2018: It was an honor and pleasure for Dr. Azimi, First Secretary, to attend the 25th Annual Convention and Reception hosted by the Japan Nut Association at the invitation of Mr. Hiroto Nakajima, Chairman of the Japan Nuts Association, at Tokai University Alumni Hall in Tokyo, Japan. Also in attendance was Ms. Imanishi, Assistant for Economic and Commercial Affairs.
The reception following the Convention provided networking opportunities for its members that are engaged in the nut and dried fruits business in Japan to meet and exchange information on current and future prospects in the industry. Furthermore, Dr. Azimi had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with Hon. Mr. Nakajima, Chairman of the Japan Nut Association, to whom he expressed his heartfelt thanks for hosting the convention and establishing the networking exchange between members of the Japan Nut Association and countries participating in the industry. In return, Mr. Nakajima thanked Dr. Azimi for his kind words and expressed his sincerest hope that their two countries, Afghanistan and Japan, continue to strengthen their relations both culturally and economically and for a prosperous future in this industry.
Additionally, he had the honor of meeting and speaking with several distinguished guests from Embassies of the countries exporting nuts and dry fruits, media specialized in the food industry, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and others related to the industry that was participating in the reception to meet the members of the association.

June 22, 2018: First Secretary and Head of the Political Affairs of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mr. Basir Hamdard had the pleasure of welcoming the Cabinet Secretariats to the Headquarters for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympics’ Games consisting of Mr. Yoichi Arai (Director), Ms. Chieko Ito (Assistant Director), and Mr. Ryosuke Ando (Assistant Director) at the Embassy of Afghanistan. Also in attendance was His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat of the Embassy of Afghanistan in Tokyo.
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss matters concerning the current options and available prefectural locations that could potentially host Afghanistan during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympics’ Games. Also, substantial information was exchanged about the details of all the sports that Afghanistan currently and could compete in during Olympic and Paralympics’ period. In accordance with H.E. Dr. Mohabbat, Mr. Hamdard emphasized the importance and significance of this upcoming international event and the positive impact that it continues to reflect upon Afghanistan. Further, they expressed great joy in knowing that Afghanistan has another opportunity to both represent their progression and profound perseverance.

Mr. Shoei Hara, Director General of South Asia Department for The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), to the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tokyo, Japan. Also in attendance were Mr. Basir Ahmad Hamdard, First Secretary; Dr. Rahim Azimi, First Secretary; and Mr. Asif Agah, Secind Secretary.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat extended his warmest welcome and deepest appreciation to H.E. Mr. Shoei Hara for his kind visit to the embassy. In return, Mr. Hara expressed his thanks to H.E. Dr. Mohabbat for his sincere words and for making time in his schedule to meet. They discussed their wishes for continued success in the warm and supportive, mutually beneficial relations between Japan, as has been mediated through the assistance of JICA over the years, and Afghanistan. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat expressed great desire to further strengthen the relationship between Afghanistan and Japan both culturally and economically. H.E. Mr. Hara agreed to do his best to further deepen the bonds and continue the support of H.E. Dr. Mohabbat’s wishes in the profound relations between Afghanistan and Japan. They further discussed topics of mutual interest.

June 21, 2018: It was a great honor for Dr. Rahim Azimi, the First Secretary of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, and Mr. Abdulzaman Akbari, Third Secretary and Human Resource Development of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, to join the Regional Promotion Seminar of the 2018 fiscal year jointly organised by Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and the local governments of Hagi (Yamaguchi Prefecture), Niigata Prefecture, the Goto Islands (Nagasaki Prefecture), and Yabu City (Hyogo Prefecture) at the Banquet Rooms "Pegasus" and Galaxy" in the Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo. The Seminar was separated into two sessions:

During the first session of the seminar, Hagi City presented Hagi Pottery and “Natsumikans”; which are types of oranges unique to Yamaguchi Prefecture. Following, Niigata Prefecture presented the world’s first academic discipline about sake (rice wine): “Sakeology”. The Goto islands promoted their hidden Christian sides within the Nagasaki region while Yabu City held a presentation about “Asakura Sansho” which is considered a magic spice.

The second session gave visitors the unique opportunity to experience Hagi City’s pottery painting. Also, Niigata offered visitors the chance to taste 12 brands of sake while the Goto Islands substitute the sake with their delicious, local delicacies: hand-stretched Udon noodles and Tuna Sashimi. Yabu City gave a mesmerizing Calligraphy live performance and promoted the Asakura Sanshi and its yuzu citrus products (which are famous citrus fruits in Hyogo Prefecture). The seminar’s overal purpose was to contributed and to enhance foreign diplomats’ understanding of Japan’s diverse regions. It also allowed the networking amongst local governments and diplomatic corps. Accordingly, Dr Azimi and Mr. Akbari mingled amongst the honorable diplomats and the local governments’ officials.

At the seminar, Dr Azimi and Mr. Akbari expressed their most sincere thanks and gratitude towards Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the present excellencies of diplomats, and the local governments’ officials for the invitation to the event. Also, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the local, Japanese government’s expressed their greatest words of thanks towards Dr. Azimi and Mr. Akbari, and the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Both sides are looking forward to the more fruitful exchange of knowledge and collaboration in the future.
