31/05/2016 H.E. Ambassador Dr. Fatimie Accompanies H.E. Minister of Women’s Affairs Ms. Nazari to Meet with H.E. Minister for Promoting Dynamic Engagement of All Citizens Mr. Kato


IMG_4144eHis Excellency Ambassador Dr. Sayed Mohammad Amin Fatimie had the great honor and pleasure of accompanying H.E. Ms. Delber Nazari, Minister of Women’s Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, for her meeting appointment with her Japanese counterpart, H.E. Mr. Katsunobu Kato, Minister for Promoting Dynamic Engagement of All Citizens. Ms. Keiko Takegawa, Director-General of Gender Equality Bureau at Cabinet Office of Japan, was also present. H.E. Minister Mr. Kato expressed his welcome to H.E. Minister Ms. Nazari, and briefed Japan’s women’s empowerment policies and achievements, including the assistance to Afghanistan in that field, particularly the projects by Japan International Cooperation Agency. Since 2002, he added, Japan has organized related international conferences, and he wished their efforts will be reflected in Afghan society.
In return, firstly H.E. Minister Nazari expressed her sincere condolences, on behalf of the people and the Government of Afghanistan, to the victims and all those affected by Kumamoto Earthquake occurred on April 14th. Then H.E. Ms. Nazari expressed her appreciation by representing Afghanistan for Japan’s assistance. She further expressed that Afghans will never forget the generous support of Japan, which has generated the achievements on not only for the condition and treatment of women in Afghanistan, but also in many other areas. H.E. Ms. Nazari wished the assistance will be continued for further developments, for peaceful, secure and stabilized Afghanistan.
H.E. Minister Mr. Kato appreciated the condolence message, and expressed that the Government of Japan encourages women to play a key role in forming a better society, by trying to remove the challenges. Without women’s involvement, security and stability are difficult to achieve, he added. H.E. Kato further briefed H.E. Nazari that the women’s empowerment was discussed during the recent Group of Seven Summit at Ise-Shima, Japan, and the international conference organized by Japan, WAW! (World Assembly for Women) will be held in December this year, as he wished the support will be continued.
