September 13, 2019: It was an honor for H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to be a guest lecturer at the Middle East Institute of Japan and give a presentation on the “Contemporary Afghanistan” at the Japan National Press Club in Tokyo.

Upon his arrival, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat was greeted by Hon. Mr. Akitaka Saiki, President; and Mr. Kiyoshi Asako, Vice President, both of the Middle East Institute of Japan, to whom he expressed sincerest thanks and appreciation on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for arranging this opportunity to allow the members to learn even more about the current state of contemporary Afghanistan. Over 60 guests were in attendance for H.E. Dr. Mohabbat’s ninety-minute lecture on contemporary Afghanistan enabling them the opportunity to hear of the new progress across various sectors and give them a chance to ask questions and receive answers first hand regarding many new developments from the government. Following the lecture , all present remarked how informative and eye-opening they found the presentation to be and very much looked forward to hearing more about Afghanistan in the future.

July 30, 2019: It was an honor for H.E. Dr. Bashir Mohabbat to attend the reception on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the accession to the throne of His Majesty Mohammed VI of Morocco (Enthronement Day) at the Hotel Okura in Tokyo.

H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat sincerely congratulated H.E. Mr. Mohammad Rachad Bouhlal, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco in Japan, and through him H.M. King Mohammed VI, on the notable occasions and wished them continuous health, happiness and prosperity. In return, H.E. Ambassador Mr. Bouhlal thanked H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat for his attendance and also wished happiness and prosperity for Afghanistan as it continues to strive for peace and prosperity.

While at the event, H.E. Dr, Mohabbat had the chance to meet and converse with Hon. Mr. Akitaka Saiki, President of the Middle East Institute of Japan and Advisor to H.E. the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan; H.E. Mr. Hirofumi Nakasone, former Foreign Minister of Japan and Madam Nakasone; Hon. Mr. Isao Ijima, Senior Advisor to H. E. the Prime Minister of Japan all of whom he expressed sincere appreciation and thanks on behalf of the people and Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for the steadfast and benevolent support by the people and Government of Japan over the years as Afghanistan has striven for progress, prosperity, and peace. Additionally. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with H.E. Ambassador Ahmad Araita Ali of Djibouti, H.E. Ambassador Ritter Diaz Gomez of Panama, as well as several others of Their Excellencies the Ambassadors, heads of mission, diplomats with missions in Japan, Government officials from several other countries, high ranking members of Japanese businesses, and other distinguished guests all present in honor of the most auspicious occasion.
