Independence Day Reception of the Republic of Kazakhstan 

December 19, 2017: H.E. Ambassador Dr. Bashir Mohabbat had the pleasure of joining a reception to celebrate the 26th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event, hosted by H.E. Mr. Yerlan Baudarbek-Kozhatayev and the esteemed Ambassadress, was held at the Hotel Okura Tokyo.

On this celebratory occasion, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohabbat took the opportunity to extend cordial and sincere congratulations to H.E. Ambassador Baudarbek-Kozhatayev and to confer, on behalf of the Government and people of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, heartfelt gratitude for the Republic of Kazakhstan’s impact-generating cooperation in Afghanistan’s reconstruction and development. In turn, H.E. Ambassador Baudarbek-Kozhatayev graciously welcomed H.E. Dr. Mohabbat to the event and stated that relations between the two nations were not only friendly and positive, but would continue on productively into the future.
The event offered the opportunity for H.E. Dr. Mohabbat to reconnect with a number of Their Excellencies, the Ambassadors of missions to Japan, and to other key dignitaries, as well as to connect with several new individuals of esteem.
Amongst those of particular note, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat was able to meet once again with the Hon. Mr. Natsuo Yamaguchi, Chief Representative of the Komei Party. An invaluable partner in the pursuit of continuing peace, seeing the Hon. Mr. Yamaguchi was an excellent opportunity for Dr. Mohabbat to once more renew overtures of sincere gratitude for his government’s and his personal role in fostering the positive relations that exist between Afghanistan and Japan. H.E. Dr. Mohabbat further had the opportunity to meet with H.E. former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of the Environment Ms. Yoriko Kawaguchi. To H.E. Ms. Kawaguchi, H.E. Dr. Mohabbat expressed deepest appreciation for the excellent work she did in her previous roles, both in terms of Afghanistan-Japan relations and in broader affairs.
