20/12/16 Ambassador Dr. Fatimie welcomes visitors from Toyo Gakuen University

December 20, 2016: Ambassador Dr. Sayed M. Amin Fatimie; Mr. Asif Agah, Second Secretary; and the staff of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tokyo welcomed visitors from Toyo Gakuen University. The visiting group was led by Mr. Jeff Durand and Mr. Jason Pratt, teachers at the university, and included 17 students.

Following a tour of the embassy conducted by Ms. Allyson Diaz, Public Relations Officer, and facilitated by Mr. Agah and Mr. Yuki Takeda, Secretary to the Ambassador, Ambassador Dr. Fatimie welcomed the group in his office. Speaking of Afghans love for peace and the successes under the democratic government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the Ambassador inspired those attending to consider the regional dimensions of peace, along with the role of individuals such as themselves. The students and instructors then enjoyed a question and answer time over lunch.
The impact of the event was evident as multiple students expressed a desire to volunteer their time towards further strengthening relations between Afghanistan and Japan.
